One of the most difficult things about 2020 is realizing how many people still think Donald Trump is a serious person. I know we’re in the middle of a plague, sustained international protests continue, and half of Australia burned down (remember that?), but those all are understandable to me. While depressing and terrible, those logically make sense. Nature is fighting back, people are sick and tired of the ruling class, and we have been woefully unrealistic about pandemics.
What doesn’t make logical sense to me is that people still consider this fucking buffoon a serious person. Whether it’s the media or Democrats, they seem intent on being nice to the spoiled 9 year old because the alternative is dealing with his temper tantrums which is slightly annoying. Which… I sorta get it. I have a 4 year old nephew and he is annoying as all hell whilst having an episode (sorry Ollie, love you). The stakes are too high now though. We need some damn adults to stand up in the room and I’m not sure we have any in modern politics.
So here we are, we’re repeating 2016 over again. The problem is, most of us just thought he would be a terrible President; now we know. This isn’t up for debate at this point. If you objectively looked at what he has accomplished and what has hasn’t in 4 years, by almost any metric he’s a historically awful President. This is removing any of the insanity, racism, rape & pedophilia accusations, dictator ass kissing, chauvinism, brink of war piloting, embarrassments, and just general pissing off the entire world. I am talking purely politically. Yet you will continue to hear “serious” people argue for this twat. That to me is one of the biggest serious linings; I know whose opinions I never have to trust again.
